Where to Watch the Champions Draw: Time and TV Channel, Real Madrid's Opponents

The white club is looking for an opponent for the round of 32 and the round of 16 of the current edition of the Champions League

After doubts during the critical months of the first part of the season, Real Madrid is present in the round of 32's draw and round of 16 of the Champions League. Carlo Ancelotti's pupils, due to their defeats against AC Milan, Liverpool, and LOSC Lille, were in position 11, which allows them to retain home-court advantage for these play-offs.

While it is true that they were very close to qualifying directly for the round of 16, the Meringues must overcome that round to be among the best teams in Europe. The next draw held by UEFA will reveal much more than Real Madrid's next opponent in the Champions League.

The white club must first play the round of 32 because they were placed between positions 9 and 24 of the league phase. The top eight have qualified directly for the round of 16. And in this draw, they will know their possible opponents in that knockout round, pending the resolution of the round of 32. The path of all the contenders to reach the final in Munich will also be definitively drawn.

Be that as it may, Real Madrid has many high-caliber opponents ahead. Their hypothetical matchup, having qualified in position number 11, will pit them against the teams that finished in places 21 and 22: Celtic of Glasgow and Manchester City. Precisely because of their high position in the overall league phase standings, Real Madrid has the advantage of playing again at their own stadium.

It won't be easy

These round of 32, a two-legged knockout, already have tentative dates. The first leg will be played on Tuesday, February 11 or Wednesday, February 12. With the second leg scheduled for Tuesday, February 18 or Wednesday, February 19. Thus, the first leg played on Tuesday, February 11 will conclude on Wednesday, February 19 and vice versa.

If they overcome these knockouts, Real Madrid doesn't have less demanding future round of 16 matchups. Following the established order, Madrid will face those occupying the fifth or sixth position of the league phase: Atlético de Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen are their possible opponents.
