Xabi Alonso sets Pintus's new role in Real Madrid's physical preparation

Real Madrid wants Pintus to stay and held a meeting with Camenforte López (new fitness coach) to define his role

Real Madrid is starting to define its new technical structure. One of the key topics is Antonio Pintus's future.

The Italian fitness coach remains a respected figure in Valdebebas. However, with Xabi Alonso's arrival, his role will change.

A decisive meeting took place last week. Xabi Alonso, together with his new staff, sat down with Pintus and Camenforte López. The goal was clear: to organize the physical preparation for next season.

Camenforte, the new leader of the physical area

Camenforte López will be the new head of Real Madrid's physical area. He is 40 years old and has a varied, international career. Between 2011 and 2018, he worked in the youth categories of FC Barcelona, where he was a direct student of the prestigious Paco Seirul·lo.

After his time at La Masia, he gained experience with teams such as New York City, Denmark's senior national team and, more recently, Bayer Leverkusen. There, he worked alongside Xabi Alonso from 2022 until this summer.

In Valdebebas, they value his analytical profile and his focus on training on the field. He is a modern coach, more oriented toward managing effort based on the game than on classic gym work.

He has also developed his own strength app, called "K-Forte", which shows his innovative mindset. Those close to him describe him as methodical, discreet, and obsessed with details.

Pintus's role under review

Real Madrid wants Pintus to stay. His experience and knowledge of the current squad are highly valued. Although his methodology is more traditional, the club believes he can be integrated into the new working model.

Juventus has shown interest in signing him, but for now, there's no final decision. Pintus has a contract and, at least until the 2025 Club World Cup, he could remain part of the coaching staff.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso seeks an orderly transition. He doesn't want drastic breaks. The idea is for Camenforte to lead the area, but for Pintus to keep contributing from a more specific and complementary role.

Everything is in the hands of the Basque coach, who is already starting to leave his mark on Real Madrid's new era.
