Xabi Alonso reveals the key to the comeback: 'We scored immediately'
Xabi Alonso's words in which he analyzes the victory against RCD Mallorca
Xabi Alonso spoke to the media in the press room at Santiago Bernabéu about Real Madrid's victory over Mallorca. The white team beat the Bermellones thanks to goals from Arda Güler and Vinícius. Beyond the refereeing controversy and the use of VAR, the Basque coach wanted to applaud the performance and work of his footballers.
"It was a match with different phases. Today we're not as tight in the pressing in the opponent's half. We have to do a little better than what we did today. The pressing after losing the ball wasn't the best, but we attacked better than against Osasuna", he commented.
"We created more, especially in the first stretch from the 20th minute against a very low block. We could've done better, kept insisting and insisting. The team's conviction and the players' conviction is being built and for me that's what's important", added Xabi Alonso.

Values the work of the team and its players
"We're better than at the start, the results are important and they confirm the path you're on. Now the Champions League is starting and we have to fine-tune some things, but I'm happy", explained Xabi Alonso regarding the team's form.
"I hadn't heard about the debate over Carreras's price. I had already been following him and I was very happy that he joined us. The adaptation of someone who already knows the club, you expected it to be good, but it's been even better", commented Xabi Alonso.
"Vinícius made a good contribution, it was a better match than the one against Osasuna at home. The goal was important, Rodrygo's entrance was important. Both Danis and Rodrygo came in well, we need everyone to be ready to contribute", added the Madrid coach.
He would prefer not to have to stop now
Additionally, Xabi Alonso also made it clear that he didn't want to stop now, although there's no other option but to respect the international break. "I'd like to keep going because staying in the dynamic of having them close and all that... but my wish is in vain", he explained.

"We knew that these first matches were important to compete while evolving in some things and defining the path we want. Now the break comes, then we start the next block. The start is good, good things and things to correct that we'll do", concluded Xabi Alonso.
