Barça's trick against its legend confirmed, Florentino embarrasses Laporta
Barça is pressuring Ter Stegen (injured) to leave and register Joan García, while Madrid renewed Carvajal after his injury
FC Barcelona is back in the spotlight. This time, because of the way it's treating one of its captains: Marc-André ter Stegen. The German goalkeeper, injured and hurt, has decided to stand up to the club.
Amid tension over his recovery, Barça was pressuring him to undergo surgery. The reason? To use his absence to register Joan García. They wanted him to be out for more than four months, but the goalkeeper has decided not to cooperate.
Madrid's gesture with Carvajal
The comparison with Real Madrid is inevitable. The day after Dani Carvajal got injured, the white club renewed his contract, without hesitation, without pressure. A gesture of trust and respect.
Meanwhile, everything has been different in Barcelona. Ter Stegen renewed his contract months ago to help the club financially. He agreed to defer part of his salary and now, after getting injured, the club has taken away his number and is leaking information to force his departure.
Barça has already signed Joan García this summer, the breakout goalkeeper of last season's Liga. In addition, it has Wojciech Szczęsny waiting in the wings. But there's a problem: the salary cap.

The idea was to use Ter Stegen's medical absence to free up space, but the German has decided to halt those plans. On social media, he made it clear that his absence will be three months (3 meses). Nothing like what the club expected.
That changes everything. Because according to articles 77 and 107 of LaLiga's economic control, if it doesn't reach four months (4 meses), 80% of the salary isn't freed up. Not even 40%, if the injury is prior to July.
Revenge underway
Ter Stegen won't make things easy. He's tired of the internal pressure, of the leaks about his salary, of the rumors that he doesn't count, and even of the social media campaign with the hashtag #TerStegenOut.
Barça, meanwhile, is exploring ways to register. LaLiga allows it to be done provisionally, in what's known as "slow-motion signings." But the blaugrana club prefers to avoid that scenario.
Florentino, from Madrid, sees it clearly: respect for the locker room. The difference in treatment speaks for itself. Another silent victory for the white president against a blaugrana board full of open fronts.
