Brahim stays, he trusts the promise Xabi Alonso has made him for 25-26
The Moroccan footballer makes a firm decision that changes his immediate future
The changes that have been triggered at Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso's arrival are aimed at restructuring Santiago Bernabéu locker room for next season. The Tolosa manager, according to what we have learned at Defensa Central, has already informed all his players of their assigned roles.
The role Xabi Alonso has given Brahim Díaz is far from seeing him as a starter. Both the Basque coach and the Madridist "21" know that it's complicated: the competition among the forwards is as fierce as it is impossibleto overcome in such a short time. However, there are differences in his position within the tactical hierarchy.

Because Brahim Díaz is marked as one of the first substitutes considered by Xabi Alonso. That was the same role he played during the 23/24 season, when he established himself as a game-changer and a second-line starter with excellent results. The physical problems and poor overall dynamics of the 24/25 campaign have erased part of that progress.
The new merengue coaching staff would have taken on the restoration of that prominent role, always as a substitute, for Brahim Díaz. The initial circumstances give him even more prominence: what happened with Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham is essential in that regard.
Two results
The departure of the former Croatian "10" leaves a gap that's hard to fill in midfield. In a similar vein is the absence of Jude Bellingham, recently operated on his left shoulder. Without those two midfielders, the connection between the midfield and the attack is at risk: that's where Brahim Díaz can excel with excellent results.
His versatility between attacking midfielder and right winger, a clear offensive vocation that the white coaching staff want to take advantage of, seems key for the first months of the next soccer season. At least while the English "5" is recovering from his left shoulder, an injury he carried for over a year.

In any case, Xabi Alonso has made it clear that Brahim Díaz's prominence will be essential for building the team in the first three months of competition. If his performance exceeds the coaching staff's expectations, Xabi Alonso will have to make a decision.
Not only because of Jude Bellingham's return, who is considered an undisputed starter unless injured. Brahim could demand more prominence based on his previous good results and, once again, the Tolosa manager would be forced to rebuild a significantly modified starting eleven.
