On Cadena SER they reveal Mastantuono's major problem, direct warning to Madrid
The analysis of the Argentine footballer raises the first doubts about his arrival at the white team
Although Real Madrid didn't seem very interested in signing Franco Mastantuono during the upcoming summer transfer window, everything has changed in a very short time. PSG's approaches for the River Plate footballer, with the rouge-et-bleu club about to make his signing official, prompted a swift intervention from the Madrid club.
Rejoining the "battle" to secure the services of River Plate's attacking midfielder, the executives led by Florentino Pérez have sparked a wave of comments about this signing. One of the most notable, coming from the first analyses of Mastantuono from a Madridist perspective, comes from Cadena SER.

Journalist Bruno Alemany opens up about Franco Mastantuono on "El Larguero". Manu Carreño, during that nighttime program, wanted to know if "he's as good as everyone says". The host's request on Cadena SER was properly answered by Bruno Alemany: "For me, from his generation, he seems to be one of those footballers touched by a magic wand".
River Plate's midfielder, according to this Cadena SER reporter, "is a footballer with impressive talent". One of his greatest virtues is creativity, which is why Real Madrid would have been interested in signing him even before last summer, in 2024. Bruno Alemany recalls that Mastantuono "is capable of doing things with the ball in terms of vision, control, and dribbling".
First negative point
"I think he's really good," the Cadena SER journalist admits. However, all those compliments have a negative side that he hasn't hesitated to highlight: his relative inexperience. "He still makes a lot of mistakes per match, silly turnovers, he's a player who still needs to be fully developed" for the elite of European soccer.
Despite the mistakes that arise from Franco Mastantuono's inexperience, Bruno Alemany has no doubts: "As a footballer, I love him". The mistakes of the current River Plate player, natural errors given his precociousness at the top of Argentine soccer, the Cadena SER journalist reveals yet another problem.

"I find it a bit striking that Madrid, having Güler in the squad and the possibility of bringing back Nico Paz... I mean, they seem like three players who are too similar, with their differences", Bruno Alemany points out. "But they're too similar to each other for Madrid not to clearly bet on one or, at most, two" of these midfielders with great creative abilities.
The reality is that both Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono can play as right wingers. The Turkish number 15 has shown that this isn't his natural position, so it would be River Plate's number 30 who'd have the chance to stand out in that role... especially if Rodrygo Goes leaves Santiago Bernabéu's locker room this very summer.
