COPE warns: conflict between Florentino and Tebas over the World Cup, the dates don't add up

It could be a big problem, and Tebas isn't willing to give in

Some people keep repeating the mantra that Javier Tebas is a Madridist and helps the white team. However, the truth is that he keeps attacking the Madridists and especially Florentino. He sees him as his great enemy, and now a major problem is looming because of the World Cup dates.

Real Madrid have qualified to play in the Club World Cup semifinals on Wednesday against PSG. However, COPE have warned that "There's trouble with the first matchday of LaLiga.  Real Madrid's first match is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, when they'll host Osasuna."

They are going to have little time for vacation and training, especially because of Javier Tebas's stance. "Real Madrid hope to postpone that match," they've indicated, but the LaLiga president isn't willing to do so. In fact, a few days ago he said that no competition would be postponed because of the World Cup.

Tebas is against this new tournament and will do everything possible to boycott it in any way. He even admitted that he would try to make sure the World Cup is never played again. That's why he's against Real Madrid having to postpone the first league matchday.

Real Madrid seek support amid Tebas's threat

The numbers are clear and pose a serious risk for Real Madrid if Tebas doesn't come to his senses. "In the worst-case scenario, if they lose on Wednesday, their vacation would start on July 10. Three weeks of vacation would take them to July 31 to start preseason," they continued.

That's why they are going to look for alternatives and allies, because LaLiga are showing themselves to be inflexible. "Madrid believe they need three weeks of preparation, with a friendly or two, before making their debut. They're going to seek support from AFE and the Federation," they said on COPE.

In fact, a few days ago AFE issued a statement addressed directly to LaLiga. They said that they should've already postponed Real Madrid's first matchday of the competition. They urged Tebas to stop focusing on money and care about the footballers' health.
