Cristina Cubero admits it, Mastantuono explains what Real Madrid is: 'Envy'
The Barça journalist praised the footballer for acknowledging that his idol is Messi and praised his naturalness in front of the media
Cristina Cubero surprised on El Chiringuito. The Catalan journalist confessed something unusual for her: she felt "envy" when she listened to Franco Mastantuono during his presentation as a Real Madrid player.
"I felt envy during Mastantuono's press conference," she admitted bluntly. "If I were a Madridist, I'd be applauding for signing him."
A speech that conquered
Mastantuono, who just turned 18 years old, spoke with personality, humility, and admiration for Lionel Messi. Those words did not go unnoticed by Cubero.

Her analysis was clear: "Messi is a treasure of soccer. What he has done for this sport goes beyond any color. Messi is above any team. He has given so much to soccer, and the fact that a gem like Mastantuono calls him his idol is worthy of applause."
Cubero went further. "If I were a Madridist, I'd be proud to have such a young player with so much personality. Let's remember that Luis Enrique, the current European champion with PSG, called him, and he chose to go to Madrid."
A gesture that, for the journalist, shows character and ambition. "I'm sure he has had financially better offers than Real Madrid's. Listening to his press conference was spectacular."
For Cubero, the most valuable thing was the authenticity: "This boy is surely like this. Nothing was fake. What he said, he truly feels."
Mastantuono's signing has caused excitement among Madridists. Not only because of his talent, but also because of the maturity he has shown in his first hours as a white player.
A message with weight
In soccer, which is increasingly marked by measured and empty statements, Mastantuono left meaningful phrases. He did not avoid talking about Messi, even knowing that he will wear the eternal rival's jersey. He did so with respect and admiration.
His decision to choose Real Madrid, despite having more lucrative destinations within reach, has been interpreted as a nod to the club's history and prestige.
Cristina Cubero summed it up in one word: envy. Perhaps many, even outside Madridism, have felt the same when seeing an 18-year-old talent step onto Bernabéu with such determination.
