Florentino can sign him for €9M, Xabi and Calafat will follow him all season

The coach from Tolosa and the head of the white club's scouts have the name of this top-level talent very much in mind

Real Madrid keeps working on making Xabi Alonso's plans for the 25/26 season a reality. The Tolosa coach uses a significant portion of the performance reports collected during the past football season, as well as his experiences during the Club World Cup, to reorganize the locker room.

So far, he has only submitted two transfer requests at the Valdebebas offices. One of the most notable is the acquisition of a center-back. The Basque coach knows that the white board of directors has Ibrahima Konaté as a target, whom they prefer to sign by taking advantage of his status as a free agent during the summer of 2026.

Xabi Alonso intends the exact opposite, given that Dean Huijsen is the only certainty he currently has in the position. The Spanish "24" is a new arrival. The other requested signing by the head of the coaching staff is a creative midfielder, preferably with a defensive profile. In that regard, the name Rodrigo Hernández has been repeatedly mentioned in recent days.

Apart from that insistence on signing the Madrid-born holding midfielder, Juni Calafat's scouts have decided to focus their attention on another creative midfielder. That profile hasn't gone unnoticed by the leader of the current white coaching staff, given that his name briefly appeared on the list of potential signings this very summer.

It's too early to rule him out

The name Nico Pazremains in the orbit of possible Real Madrid signings since the retirement of Toni Kroos and the departure of Luka Modric as a free agent. The talented and young Argentine attacking midfielder, transferred to Como 1907 more than a year ago, has experienced notable football growth under the technical direction of Cesc Fàbregas.

Indeed, his addition was considered to complete the midfield in Santiago Bernabéu locker room, a project that was ultimately frustrated by the emergence of Franco Mastantuono as a transfer option. Although River Plate's "30" will soon join the merengue sports discipline, no one rules out Nico Paz's return.

Especially now that he has established himself as one of the standouts of the Italian sports project. His performance in the preseason matches played so far makes it clear that he is one of Cesc Fàbregas's untouchables, gaining ground in the European football elite. Nico Paz's progression continues to generate debate in the Valdebebas offices, where they must also pay attention to their coach's requirements.

It remains to be seen how Franco Mastantuono fits into the first team, which still needs footballers with outstanding creative abilities. If the efforts of Arda Güler and Mastantuono himself aren't enough, Real Madrid could once again consider Nico Paz's return... as long as Como 1907's "79" keeps up the good run of results he has shown since leaving the Spanish capital.
