Florentino celebrates it: he's about to get $10M out of the blue for a castoff

The white president doesn't lose sight of the progress of the operation this summer

Although Real Madrid has finished its activity in the transfer market, at least regarding signings, the sporting management remains alert to any desired change. One of those changes is the definitive sale of a player whose contract and performance reports have been kept in the Valdebebas offices as a player to closely monitor.

Miguel Gutiérrez's future hasn't been close to the first team, given the emergence of better options: first Alphonso Davies and then Álvaro Carreras. However, Real Madrid hasn't lost sight of him considering the financial return it could obtain from him: it owns 50% of his rights.

The transfer agreement signed with Girona three years ago, which allowed Miguel Gutiérrez to gain experience at a Spanish top-level soccer club, had two objectives. The first was to reshape the player to see if he truly had the level to rejoin Santiago Bernabéu locker room.

If that first "mission" wasn't achieved, as has been the case, the board of directors doesn't miss any detail of the money they could receive from his departure from Montilivi. The information published by Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto indicates that Girona's "3" would be on the verge of arriving at Diego Armando Maradona.

It could be closed very soon

Aurelio di Laurentiis's SSC Napoli would have set its sights on the Spanish full-back to strengthen the left side of the Partenopei defense. At the request of its coach, Antonio Conte, the top executives from southern Italy would have already started negotiations with the main representatives of the team belonging to City Group.

These talks would have set Miguel Gutiérrez's minimum price at €18 million ($19.7 million), an amount that satisfies Real Madrid. While it's true that its ideal price is closer to €30 million ($32.8 million), it remains to be seen whether the Italian squad can invest such an amount in the player.

In any case, the executives led by Florentino Pérez continue to closely follow the progress of the negotiations for Miguel Gutiérrez... meanwhile, they wait patiently but without delay for the amount due to them: exactly half of the transfer fee paid by SSC Napoli.

The formula executed in Miguel Gutiérrez's case is once again yielding great results. In fact, Real Madrid would have decided to repeat it during recent summers, taking advantage of every "exodus" of talent that the Merengue team records from La Fábrica toward the elite.
