Florentino will cast his net over Konaté in January, €15M offer
The roadmap for the white squad includes a very calculated attempt to sign a player
Despite the requests made by Xabi Alonso to expand Santiago Bernabéu locker room, after the experiences at the Club World Cup, no further signings were made. This decision by the board led by Florentino Pérez, however, doesn't prevent the white club's top executives from considering those signings for future transfer windows.
The example of this trend is Ibrahima Konaté. The Liverpool center-back's contract with the red club ends in the summer of 2026, but Madrid's executives would be preparing a final attempt to secure his services. According to what we have learned at Defensa Central, they are awaiting the decision of the executives based in Merseyside.

Because Ibrahima Konaté is showing himself increasingly opposed to extending his stay in the locker room of the legendary English stadium. Given this, aware that the French "5" would leave the team as a free agent, without receiving a single euro, they could definitely put him on the winter market.
Ibrahima Konaté's current market value is set at €60 million ($65.9 million), a figure that almost no club would want to pay halfway through the 25/26 season. That's why one solution is to bring forward the European center-back's departure to January 2026. After all, it's better to receive a reduced transfer fee than to let one of its best players leave completely free of charge.
Only condition
Real Madrid will make a move immediately if Liverpool decides to put Ibrahima Konaté on the winter 2026 transfer market. The executives led by Florentino Pérez have already set a spending cap for this signing: just €15 million ($16.5 million) would be the price they consider fair for this footballer.
Given the conditions in which his future would be found, with less than six months left on his contract and the possibility of negotiating a Bosman transfer, it's the best option. This is the only operation that the white club's leadership plans to make a reality midway through the current soccer season.

This approach to Ibrahima Konaté, nothing more, doesn't take into account any unforeseen soccer events that the white squad may suffer during the course of the current soccer season. If such a concerning scenario becomes reality, Real Madrid would open a debate to decide regarding an emergency signing... thus alleviating a hypothetical personnel deficit in the first team.
Apart from this action of extreme necessity, the white club's top executives are preparing the rest of their moves in the market with next summer in mind. While it's true that there are still twelve months left, it's never too early to start planning several of the most desired signings by the best clubs in the European soccer elite.
