Gonzalo, the big dilemma for Real Madrid: the reason why he can still leave the club

The Spanish center forward delivered an excellent performance at the Club World Cup

The coaching staff led by Xabi Alonso has drawn multiple and valuable lessons from its participation in the Club World Cup. Not for nothing does the celebration of that competition allow the Merengue coaches to reorganize Santiago Bernabéu locker room. According to what we have been able to confirm at Defensa Central, each player already knows their assigned role.

The decisions that the new coaches of the white squad are making haven't ended yet. One of the major issues under debate within Real Madrid during the last weeks of this summer's transfer window, even when it seemed completely settled, is Gonzalo García.

The presence of the former "7" of Real Madrid Castilla in the squad list for the Club World Cup was due to the injury ofEndrick. The "16" verdeamarelo was injured during the final stretch of last season's league, thus missing an excellent opportunity to prove himself to Xabi Alonso. His place in the expedition to the United States was taken by Gonzalo García himself.

The performance of the striker trained at La Fábrica exceeded all expectations that were held for him: initially, he was only present to act as Kylian Mbappé's substitute. However, the acute gastroenteritis suffered by the French "9" gave him a role as unexpected as it was well taken advantage of.

Complicated situation

To the point that his arrival to the first team is being discussed in the Valdebebas offices. That decision, according to information recently published by Mario Cortegana, still hasn't been made. The executives led by Florentino Pérez value Gonzalo García's efforts positively, but the future of an Endrick who is injured again remains to be solved.

Not for nothing will the South American footballer be away from the field for about eight to ten weeks (8 to 10 weeks / 56 to 70 days). That period of time allows Gonzalo García to establish himself as Kylian Mbappé's backup, gaining ground over an Endrick who doesn't hesitate to defend his place in the team.

As things stand, the only reason that still raises doubts about Gonzalo García's short-term future is Endrick. The Taguatinga forward was facing Xabi Alonso's era with the hope of getting many more minutes than he got under Carlo Ancelotti's management... but the first team's "30" would have put that idea on hold.

The injury he is currently suffering from, as well as the rumors of a loan to other elite teams, doesn't prevent Endrick from being very clear about his long-term sporting goal. The player wants to fulfill the role that led him to sign for Real Madrid in the first place: succeed Kylian Mbappé as the first team's reference "9".
