Goodbye to Real Madrid, the left-back leaves the club: Álvaro Carreras is decisive
The player is left without a place in Xabi Alonso's plans for the 2024/25 season
Real Madrid is still keeping an eye on the changes it must make in Santiago Bernabéu locker room ahead of the upcoming season. The executives led by Florentino Pérez must complete a transaction planned for the start of the current Club World Cup, but the negotiations have turned out to be more complicated than expected.
The signing of Álvaro Carreras hasn't gone as desired in the Valdebebas offices. The Merengue bosses wanted to have the Spanish left-back for the tournament to be played in the United States, a situation that Benfica prevented by considerably prolonging all negotiations.

Now the Portuguese squad has little room for maneuver to prevent the departure of one of the top stars of the team coached by Bruno Lage, given its elimination. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso's pupils continue their path to the final on July 13 in New Jersey, and the white sporting management is preparing a departure in that position.
Álvaro Carreras's arrival in Santiago Bernabéu locker room, together with Fran García's excellent performance, leaves out virtually any other option considered to strengthen that defensive area. Rafael Obrador is one of those affected.
Another year away
The left-back trained at La Fábrica was loaned to Deportivo de La Coruña for the 24/25 season. His good performance in the Galician sports discipline made him one of the "dark horses" to solve the hypothetical crisis in that area of the depleted Merengue defense. No longer, since the executives led by Florentino Pérez have made clear their chosen players.
Both Fran García, on Xabi Alonso's personal recommendation, and Álvaro Carreras will be the players included in the first white team for the left flank. While waiting for Ferland Mendy's recovery, a player affected by a serious injury, Rafael Obrador's future is in Serie A.

According to information published by Gianluca di Marzio, the white leadership has already entered into serious negotiations to take the Spanish defender to Genoa. Rafael Obrador's entourage, aware that he won't have opportunities in the Spanish capital, has reportedly accepted this process to loan him out.
The people responsible for the future sports project don't want to lose sight of Rafael Obrador, but right now he doesn't have a place in the first team. That's why they have proposed this loan to Genoa, so he can settle in as a starter there, get minutes, and compete in the future with the current first-team full-backs.
