Inda announces the urgent request Xabi Alonso has made to Florentino: signing now
The Tolosa manager insists on this signing at the Valdebebas offices
The coaching staff led by Xabi Alonso is working tirelessly to fit the footballers from the first team into its plans and tactical schemes for next season. The experiences accumulated during the Club World Cup are notably shaping that process, causing certain changes in the requests made by the white team's coach.
Given this, Xabi Alonso has once again approached the white team's leadership to request up to two last-minute signings. The signing of a creative, defensive-minded midfielder is not new: the name that has been mentioned for several days is Rodrigo Hernández, who would fit the coach's requirements.

The other signing that the Tolosa coach has requested from the top executives led by Florentino Pérez is a center-back. The heavy defeat suffered against PSG in the Club World Cup semifinals pointed to Antonio Rüdiger and Raúl Asencio, whose performances in the rest of that competition are not very promising either. That's why Xabi Alonso has requested the signing of another defender.
Specifically, Ibrahima Konaté. The coach knows that they are monitoring the contract situation of the '5' red: any move aimed at bringing him into Santiago Bernabéu locker room would be very well received. After all, Dean Huijsen is the only certainty the first team currently has for the center-back position.
It has to be as soon as possible
Apart from the doubts raised by players like Militão, Asencio, and Rüdiger, the situation of David Alaba is truly complex. Injured again during the competition in the United States, everything suggests that he will play a secondary role this season... and will leave as a free agent at the end of the 25/26 campaign.
Xabi Alonso believes that all the current circumstanceswarrant making the effort to secure the signing of Ibrahima Konaté during the current summer transfer window. The Madrid board of directors, however, seems to be more reluctant than ever to carry out this operation: Liverpool has put in place a significant deterrent.

At Anfield Road, fearful that what happened with Alexander-Arnold could happen again, they are trying by all means to renew the French center-back's contract. In addition, they have set a price of €50 million for any team that tries to sign Konaté this summer. In Merseyside, they are not willing to give in so easily regarding the French defender.
Xabi Alonso insists on bringing forward the signing of Ibrahima Konaté to the summer of 2025 given the fragile situation at the heart of the first team's defense. While there is a sufficient number of players, up to five, the white team's coaching staff can only fully trust a newcomer, Dean Huijsen, for the first matches of the 25/26 season.
