Joan Martínez means business, ok for his new training, Arbeloa and Xabi change their expressions
The center-back from La Fábrica has started to monitor his training sessions and physical condition with the WHOOP smart band
Real Madrid keeps moving forward, always with an eye on what the new season will bring, something that isn't limited to Xabi Alonso's squad, especially because the Madrid reserve team is leaving a very good impression and with even better news.
Joan Martínez has returned. He has done so with a physical level that has surprised even the most demanding. The young center-back from Real Madrid Castilla has taken another step in his preparation and has added a new element to his routine: a health band that he doesn't take off, not even to sleep.
It's not a whim. It's a top-level device — used by athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo — that measures all kinds of parameters: sleep, effort, recovery, stress… Every morning, Joan checks the data, analyzes his physical condition, and makes decisions to adjust his training. He is that meticulous.
A healthy obsession with self-care
After the serious knee injury that kept him off the field for a year, Joan has taken his commitment to his body to another level. He takes care of every detail: rest, nutrition, hydration, strength, mobility… Nothing escapes him. The WHOOP band, which can be seen on his right wrist during Castilla's training sessions, is the latest example of his healthy obsession.

The results are clear. Last weekend, Joan played minutes again with the reserve team. He started and played twenty minutes in the first preseason friendly against Marbella.
It didn't seem like he had been out for so long. He looked relaxed, confident, strong in duels, and secure with the ball.
Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso, delighted
Álvaro Arbeloa knows him well and fully trusts him. Not only for his defensive quality, but also for his professional attitude and maturity.
After the match, both shared a hug that said it all. There were also messages on social media: "Especially happy to see Joan back on the field," wrote the coach.
Joan replied emotionally: "356 days later, all the effort has paid off".

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso is also closely following his progress. There are high hopes for him at the club and it isn't ruled out that he could train with the first team again if he keeps up this upward trend.
Joan Martínez is back. He means it.
