Jorge Mendes Will Decide on Thursday the Future of a Madrid Player, Everything up in the Air
The Portuguese agent could address the future of a footballer after the cup match against Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid Enters the Most Important Stretch of the Season and Has Arrived with Options to Compete for the Three Most Important Titles (League, Cup, and Champions), although to do so they will have to sweat the jersey because it won't be easy.
In the domestic championship, Carlo Ancelotti's team is tied on points (54) with Barcelona, although they have lost the 'goal-average'. Atlético is closely following both the culés and the merengues, being just one point behind them. Athletic Club, meanwhile, closes the Champions spots with 48 marks.
In the Champions, precisely, Madrid will face Atlético in the round of 16. The first leg will be played on March 4 at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (9 p.m.) and the return leg at the Metropolitano (March 12, 9 p.m.).

Meanwhile, in the Cup, the merengue team returns this week to play, this time the first leg of the semifinals against Real Sociedad. Madrid visits San Sebastián this Wednesday (9:30 p.m.) to face the 'txuri-urdin' team at Anoeta. The return leg will be played on April 1 at the Bernabéu (9:30 p.m.).
The match against Real could be decisive for Andriy Lunin's future, as the goalkeeper has only had continuity in the rounds of the K.O. tournament, beyond replacing Thibaut Courtois during a series of matches at the beginning of the season.
Mendes Gets Ready
Lunin Ended Up Renewing His Contract with Madrid Last Summer, Signing an Extension Until 2030. In the previous campaign, the Ukrainian goalkeeper was essential for the team to end up winning both the League and the Champions. In the latter competition, his hands were crucial to eliminate Manchester City in the quarterfinals, in a tie that was decided in the penalty shootout.

The fact that Lunin didn't play against Real would increase the chances of Lunin leaving despite having renewed his contract with Madrid, which improved his conditions. Jorge Mendes, his agent, would already be making moves for a Lunin who, at just 26 years old, still has a lot to stop with his gloves…
