José Félix Díaz Confirms the Transfer of a Central Defender, Who Will Arrive at Real Madrid in January

The Spanish journalist reveals the 'lightning' operation achieved by the Meringue bosses

One of Real Madrid's biggest emergency in the upcoming transfer market is, without a doubt, in the central defense area. Injuries have left the Madrid defense in a tight spot, forcing Carlo Ancelotti to bring back Tchouaméni for that position... although the French '14' is not very excited about it.

Aware that it's important to sign players with the most immediate steps to the first team in mind, the Valdebebas offices have reportedly sponsored the transfer of a central defender quickly. This was announced at the beginning of the week and since then the replies have been favorable.

Real Madrid had set their sights on one of Leganés' most promising youth players: Lamini Fati. The young central defender from the 'pepineras' youth system is dazzling in the lower categories... and could perfectly in La Fábrica.

After several days of doubts about his future, many are pointing to Lamini Fati as a new Real Madrid player. One of the most forceful in his affirmation is José Félix Díaz: the MARCA journalist also provides some information about his arrival at the club.

All the future ahead

Because Lamini Fati, despite his enormous potential, can't make the jump to the first team directly. In that sense, he'll start playing for Real Madrid C: this is the category that best suits the performance and level at which he has managed until now. But there's one condition for his arrival at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas.

José Félix Díaz says that if Lamini Fati's development meets the current projections, he could move up the ranks of La Fábrica over time. This means that his arrival at Real Madrid Castilla is much closer than it seems.

It wouldn't be the first time that a player has shown his superior level for his current category and ends up offering an exceptional performance in the most important group of the youth team. Thinking about Lamini Fati for the first team is still a somewhat strange idea, but only the passage of time will prove or disprove this.

This transfer, made during the winter transfer market, is just the first of the moves expected in the Valdebebas offices for the summer. Because there are several names being considered to immediately expand the core of the first team's defense... a historic request from Carlo Ancelotti that was accentuated in recent months with the fiasco in the 'Yoro case'.
