Jota Jordi stirs up trouble like never before, the clapbacks pour in: 'We're the ones who are harmed'

The Barça panelist shared his particular point of view regarding the VAR error in Vallecas

The controversy surrounding the video refereeing system continues in La Liga. After what happened at Mendizorroza, with the goal awarded to Atlético de Madrid in clear offside, the experience at Estadio de Vallecas was striking. For about twelve minutes, the connection between Busquets Ferrer and the VOR room in Las Rozas was interrupted

Under those conditions, the on-field referee could not speak with the assigned VAR official for the Rayo Vallecano-FC Barcelona match... nor go to the monitor installed at the side of the field to review the images of the most controversial plays. That meant that Hansi Flick's players forced a questionable penalty that ended up being taken due to Busquets Ferrer's inability to see the images of the action.

That much-discussed penalty resulted in Lamine Yamal's goal, a goal that Rayo Vallecano would later equalize during the second half to seal the final 1-1 in Vallecas. This unusual event with the video refereeing system in our country has sparked much discussion on "El Chiringuito de Jugones".

Jota Jordi did not miss the opportunity to point out that "we were the ones harmed" by not having a connection between the VOR room and Busquets Ferrer in the first half. So much so that the Barça panelist was convinced that the penalty on Lamine Yamal is "very clear", provoking a reaction from other Madridist panelists.

Keeps insisting on it

Beyond the penalty decision, Jota Jordi believes that FC Barcelona was harmed because "we spent 45 minutes playing offside, affected because there's no VAR". Not everyone on set was convinced by that argument: not even Josep Pedrerol, who reminded the commentator that there was no error with that type of infraction.

"Luckily, no", said Jota Jordi, while trying to explain and defend that FC Barcelona was the real party harmed by that VAR failure in the match at Vallecas. It was then that Fernando Sanz intervened to point out that "you've only exposed yourself" because "thanks to not having VAR, you were benefited with the penalty" scored by Lamine Yamal.

Jota Jordi insisted that the foul on the new "10" of FC Barcelona is "very clear. You may say no, but I'll say yes because for me it is", said the Barça panelist. Fernando Sanz asked him to "be serious, you have someone next to you who's honest and has told you it's not a penalty".

The person denying that it was a penalty is none other than "Lobo" Carrasco. The former FC Barcelona player, now a panelist and commentator, made it clear during the match that it was not a punishable action. That point of view is in stark contrast to the opinion defended by Jota Jordi, which has earned him so many "clapbacks" in recent hours.
