Julio Baptista Chooses Between Mbappé and Vinícius, Believes He Will Be the Next Ballon d'Or

Julio Baptista knows Real Madrid's locker room very well after having been at the white club. He knows that the level has always been very high and he hasn't shied away from entering the big debate. He has talked about who is better, Mbappé or Vinícius.

It was with Josep Pedrerol, on his podcast El Cafelito, where he has weighed in on who he sees as better. He pointed out that  "right now, I think so. Mbappé is the best in the world, the most decisive” although he also adds that "along with Vinícius, he's right there."

He doesn't forget the Brazilian, who is his compatriot, but he sees Kylian a step above at the moment.  "Right now, because of the goals” he believes Mbappé is better than Vinícius, as he sees him as decisive. The Frenchman has scored important goals like against City or Villarreal.

"Mbappé is showing that he is already taking the space for which he came to Real Madrid" he concludes. It is clear that for Baptista, right now Kylian would be the Ballon d'Or winner. Although Vinícius shouldn't be underestimated as there is still a season ahead.

A Battle Between Mbappé and Vinícius That Will Be Decisive

Mbappé and Vinícius will be fighting for the Ballon d'Or for the rest of the current season. Although some claim they don't get along and there is a bad atmosphere in the locker room, that is not apparent. For them, this individual distinction is not the main goal.

They want to lead Real Madrid to win all possible titles, with La Liga and Champions League as the main ones. But they know that their performances can contribute to the team's collective success. That will undoubtedly be decisive for one to stand out above the other.

Last season, Real Madrid benefited from the performance of Kroos, Vinícius, Bellingham, or Carvajal. It seems the same will happen with the Brazilian and Mbappé as spearheads. It is not the priority, but the Ballon d'Or should come along with the successes achieved thanks to them.
