Konaté's signing: Real Madrid has it on track

The Whites are very close to having everything settled with the Frenchman

Real Madrid has already shown with Trent or Mbappé that it's capable of taking its time with signings. When it comes to players whose contracts are expiring, they know that patience is essential. However, this approach has paid off very well for them, allowing them to secure top-level additions.

According to reports from England, there's a very pessimistic outlook at Liverpool regarding his contract renewal. He has rejected every offer they've made him, and his stance seems clear that he won't sign. He's looking toward Real Madrid, and there's a fear that he wants to follow the same path as Trent.

In fact, at Defensa Central, we've confirmed Real Madrid's intentions with Konaté. At the club, they're aware that the Frenchman still hasn't renewed his contract with Liverpool. They're going to take the same steps as with Trent so he can arrive for free next summer.

The plan would be to wait until January 1, 2026, without making any new moves in the market. Starting on that day, they'll be able to negotiate freely with the player to reach a pre-agreement. The intention is to do so and have everything settled for his arrival next summer at zero cost.

A signing that's even being talked about for this summer

Throughout this summer, Konaté's name has continued to come up as a possible signing for Real Madrid. There was even speculation that his transfer could be finalized during this window, with the idea that Liverpool would sit down to negotiate in order to get some money for him.

But the truth is that Madridists aren't considering Konaté as the final big move of the market. Among other reasons, Liverpool would demand €50 million to close his sale, which they consider too much given the Frenchman's contract situation.

They also believe they need to take advantage of the chance for him to arrive as a free agent. It'll be a major coup in the market due to his price, his age, and his experience. A world-class player who'll join Bernabéu at zero cost, just as others have done before.
