Laporta wants to sign a Real Madrid cast-off at all costs, he will pay €25M

After their new debacle in the Champions League, Barcelona is beginning to prepare for the next season. Aware of the lack of more decisive players, Barcelona has set its sights on players far from a winning mentality.  As proof of this is the recent interest that Joan Laporta has acquired in signing Reece James.

The current Chelsea player was, at his best, one of the great talents of English soccer. Once considered one of the best right-backs in the world, his level began to decline just like Barcelona. Falling out of the starting line-up and being forgotten by the fans, Laporta seeks to give him a second chance.

Laporta, through the payment of 25 million euros, will seek the services of Reece James during the summer market. A signing that would give much to talk about because James, at one time, was one of Real Madrid's great interests.

After Real Madrid's leftovers

Since its foundation, Real Madrid has always been known as a club that signs only the best of the best. Whether a young promise or an experienced player, Real Madrid has never been interested in players with decent level. This led, some time ago, Real Madrid to set its sights on Reece James to reinforce the right-back position.

While the interest in Reece was growing, the player's level was in constant decline. Suffering from injuries and a clear lack of commitment to improve, Reece showed he didn't have what it takes to be part of Real Madrid.

Due to this, Real Madrid forgot about him and focused on other players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is close to arriving.  Without having returned to his best level, the signing of Reece James by Barcelona shows the mediocrity of the culés.

Another mistake by Laporta

Despite the luck they had this season, Joan Laporta is once again taking Barcelona to ruin. Paying 25 million for a player like Reece James is a waste of money from a club that has almost nothing.
