Maldini's reaction after PSG's 4-0 win over Real Madrid: 'He didn't want to...'
The journalist has criticized the performance of the Whites against the Parisians after the tough defeat in the semifinal
Julio Maldonado, better known as Maldini, didn't take long to speak out after Real Madrid's heavy defeat against PSG in the Club World Cup.
The journalist shared his analysis of the match through his X account (formerly Twitter), leaving a clear reflection: "PSG crushed Real Madrid and didn't want to rub salt in the wound."
For Maldini, the result could've been even worse for the white team. "It could've been a much more damaging scoreline," he added.
Clear superiority from the start
The analyst didn't hide his surprise at the poor level shown by Xabi Alonso's team. He also highlighted the authority with which Luis Enrique's team dominated the match from the very first minute.
"It's true that Real Madrid gave away two goals right at the start, but even then the superiority was clear and Courtois was already starting to be the hero," Maldini pointed out.
PSG didn't just score four goals. They also had several clear chances that Courtois managed to prevent. Without the Belgian, the result could've been historic.
An unrecognizable Madrid
Maldini emphasized that Real Madrid never truly managed to compete. The team was outmatched in intensity, pace, and tactical organization.
"PSG didn't want to humiliate. They dominated, scored, and held back," the journalist opined.
The image shown by Xabi Alonso's team has caused many doubts among analysts and fans. Madrid was left without a final after one of its toughest defeats in recent years.

Courtois, the only one spared
Julio Maldonado also wanted to highlight Thibaut Courtois. The goalkeeper prevented an even bigger rout and was, once again, the best on the team.
"Courtois prevented this from being an absolute disaster," the journalist summarized.
Real Madrid, despite having players like Mbappé, Bellingham, or Vinícius, couldn't respond to PSG's drive.
The difference between both teams was so clear that, for Maldini, "PSG was superior in every way and could've done more damage if it had wanted to."
The reflection makes it clear that the rout wasn't just a matter of isolated mistakes. It was a matter of level. PSG, this time, played in another league.
