Mbappé has a new challenge this season, last year he was two short of achieving it
Athletic Club de Bilbao and Valencia were the only ones that did not concede any goals to Mbappé last season
Kylian Mbappé is preparing for his second season in Spain. Last season, he didn't lead his team to win LaLiga. However, he took home the Pichichi with 31 goals in 34 matches.
Now, the Frenchman starts with the number 10 jersey, after leaving behind the number 9 he wore before. His goal remains the same: to win LaLiga and keep his scoring streak.
Only two teams escaped his power
Athletic Club de Bilbao and Valencia were the only teams that didn't concede goals to Mbappé last season.
Against Athletic, he played just one match at San Mamés. Madrid lost 2-1 and Mbappé missed a penalty that made the difference. That mistake was widely discussed and he received criticism.

Facing Valencia, Mbappé played both league matches. Neither at Mestalla (1-2) nor at Bernabéu (1-2) did he manage to score. In the home match, the penalty was taken by Vinícius, who also couldn't convert the opportunity.
Frenchman's favorite rivals
The start of the season brings the chance to face the newly promoted teams: Oviedo, Levante, and Elche. Last season, Mbappé already showed his effectiveness against five teams to which he scored three or more goals: Barcelona, Leganés, Real Sociedad, Celta, and Valladolid.
Barcelona was the team most punished by Mbappé. He scored five goals, although none of them prevented the blaugranas from taking the win in the decisive matches. The Frenchman's effectiveness continues to be feared by LaLiga rivals.

Mbappé enters this new season with a clear challenge: to surpass his record and contribute to Real Madrid's title. His speed, finishing, and ability to appear at key moments make him a constant threat to any defense.
The Madrid fans hope the striker keeps his level and helps the team achieve what slipped away last year by a narrow margin. The countdown for Mbappé to shine again in LaLiga has already begun.
