Mbappé responds to Evra's rant, exhibition at Bernabéu, and embarrassment in France
Attack on Kylian, however, the forward wanted to leave him speechless on the field
In France they're still hurt by Mbappé's move from PSG to Real Madrid and they don't forgive him. The attacks against him were frequent last season and they continue this one. That's even though he's no longer in Ligue 1, but some seem determined to go against him.
This is the case with former footballer Patrick Evra, who has harshly criticized Kylian, questioning his quality. "When you say Mbappé is the best player, I think he doesn't even come close to Jean-Pierre Papin," he stated on RMC Sport. However, he didn't stop there and continued with his speech.
"Let's never compare Kylian with Thierry Henry. Did you see Henry's performances?" he added. In fact, he has no qualms about making it clear that "you've created this product." He concluded by emphasizing that "you're putting people on a pedestal who aren't on a pedestal."
It's surprising that he mentions Henry since the Arsenal legend doesn't seem to share Evra's opinion. He has pointed out that "we know he's one of the best footballers in the world, but we mustn't forget that he's a human being, not a machine." He sends a message: "We should feel proud that he's French."
Mbappé Responds to Evra on the Field
After Evra's words, Mbappé decided to respond to his compatriot where he knows best. His performance against Celta de Vigo at Bernabéu once again made his quality clear. It's undeniable that he's one of the best players in the world and he has a career ahead to keep proving it.
The Frenchman scored a stunning goal starting from the center of the field and created the play for the second. He moved between lines, took advantage of spaces, and teamed up with his teammates to create imbalances. A demonstration that made Bernabéu bid him farewell with a great ovation.
It's clear that Evra isn't driven by objectivity but by resentment over his transfer with Real Madrid. When he was in Ligue 1, he was a global star who was going to win everything. However, now he's become a "product" according to the former Manchester United player.
