'Spanish Modric' that Ancelotti Rejects for Real Madrid, the Club Won't Transfer Him

The promising youngster who has been ruled out by Carlo Ancelotti to join Real Madrid soon

It is no surprise that Real Madrid has shown interest in transfering a promising youngster. The Meringue team, aware of the age of its players, has been renewing several positions for several seasons. One of the positions that most needs to be strengthened, after the departure of important players such as Kroos, is the midfield.

This led the team to set their eyes on Gabri Veiga. The quality of the Spanish midfielder caught the attention of not only the Meringue team but also that of several teams. Having been compared to Luka Modric, Veiga's future was quite promising.

However, his decision to leave for the Arab league ended his career. Despite showing clear regret and readiness to return to Europe, Real Madrid has closed its doors to him. Ancelotti himself has ruled out his transfer, asking to study other better alternatives than Veiga.

Real Madrid's 'No'

Shining in his debut season with Celta Vigo, Veiga caught the attention of half of Europe for the summer transfer market of 2023. The Spanish U-21 international was set to be one of the biggest stars in Spain and Europe. With 11 goals and 4 assists, the young Spaniard was able to overshadow Iago Aspas.

However, his decision to leave for Saudi Arabia was criticized and had serious consequences for his career. Despite his contract ending in 2026 and seeking an exit for a fee of 30 million euros, his return to Europe is complicated.

Real Madrid have been firm in their decision not to pursue his transfer next summer transfer window. Being only 22 years old, Ancelotti considers him a risky option for the team given his possible low level.

The consequences of preferring money

Veiga's prioritisation of earning much more money over exploiting his potential in a big team has cost him dearly. Real Madrid's rejection shows that the player's future is doomed, with his priorities far removed from those of the club.
