Neither Carreras nor Grimaldo: the full-back for €30M who's desperate to join Real Madrid
Theo Hernández has an offer from Arabia, but he wants to continue in Europe and, more specifically, at Real Madrid
Theo Hernández is back on Real Madrid's radar. Despite interest in other names like Álvaro Carreras or Alejandro Grimaldo, the Frenchman wants to return to the white club. He's desperate for a second chance at Santiago Bernabéu.
Al Hilal has reached an agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of the left-back. The agreed amount is €30 million ($32.6 million) fixed, plus another €5 million ($5.4 million) in variables.
However, the signing isn't finalized yet. The player's approval is still missing. That's the problem.
Theo Hernández hasn't accepted the Saudi proposal yet. Money isn't the issue.
What holds him back is his desire to keep competing at the highest level in Europe. The Frenchman doesn't want to make the move to Saudi Arabia. Not yet.
The former Real Madrid player feels his career still has much to offer at the elite level. At 27 years old, he's in his footballing prime.
At Milan, he's been a key piece. Speed, power, and goals. No one doubts his level.
He wants revenge at Bernabéu
Those close to the player say he has unfinished business. He wants to succeed at Real Madrid. In his first stint, he didn't manage to establish himself.
He arrived very young and didn't have continuity. Now he feels ready, being more mature and more developed. The white club is still looking for reinforcements for the left-back position.

Fran García hasn't fully convinced. Mendy has performed well, but injuries remain a concern. Theo would be an ideal option.
Top performance, questioned personality
He knows the club. He has experience at the highest level. He's willing to step off the Saudi train to return to Bernabéu.
In Italy, Theo has been criticized more for his relationship with coaches than for his performance. He's had clashes with more than one manager. His strong personality hasn't always been easy to manage.
Even so, his talent is beyond question.
Neither Carreras nor Grimaldo. Theo Hernández's desire could change the landscape and Real Madrid know it. Carlo Ancelotti does, too.
