Neither Álvaro Carreras nor Miguel Gutiérrez, price for plan C Real Madrid has

The Merengue bosses don't lose sight of competitive alternatives for that position

Real Madrid would be in the final stretch of two of the signings needed to rebuild the first team before the Club World Cup. The arrival of Xabi Alonso in the capital of Spain has prompted the club's executives to take action and aim to solve the notable shortage of players. What happened this season can't happen again.

That's why the names of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen are getting closer to being among the players available for Xabi Alonso in just three weeks. Another footballer that Real Madrid would like to incorporate before June 18 is a left-back:  Álvaro Carreras seems like the ideal candidate for that position.

The Spanish defender from Benfica "is very much liked" by the club's sports management according to multiple sources of information, but the conditions of his signing raise doubts in the Valdebebas offices. Especially his release clause, set at 50 million euros, which would seem somewhat high for the club's leadership.

That's why Juni Calafat's scouts keep an eye on the opportunity to monitor other left-backs. Although Álvaro Carreras is the number one candidate for that position, the club's executives always want to have a "plan B".

They haven't made a decision yet

The name of Miguel Gutiérrez, a former youth player of the Madrid team and now a Girona player, is one of the most considered in that regard. But the reports on the Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez have become quite popular among the leaders led by Florentino Pérez, raising the possibility of his signing this summer.

Such a move would only be made if Álvaro Carreras's signing failed spectacularly, a future that seems increasingly unlikely as the days go by. However, signing Kerkez himself wouldn't be an easy operation to tackle and conclude: elite European soccer teams like Liverpool have set their sights on him.

That's why from the noble area of the Vitality Stadium they have made it clear that the Hungarian defender will only leave through a transfer of 47.5 million pounds. In exchange, it amounts to about 56.3 million euros according to current rates, a figure too high for the '3' of the cherry squad.

However, Real Madrid doesn't completely move away from that possibility. Because the progress with Álvaro Carreras doesn't come with the same speed as the "cases" of Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen,  making the club's executives impatient... who are already considering possible alternatives to the signing of the former Manchester United player.
