Neither Pedri nor Raphinha: Xabi has a major concern for the upcoming clásicos

The native of Tolosa identifies the biggest problem facing the Culers and is already working on it

Real Madrid have recently experienced both the best and the worst of direct clashes against Barça.  A couple of seasons ago, they were unstoppable and secured victory in all of them. However, last season, it was the opposite and they had to concede defeat in every Clásico.

This is why Xabi Alonso is already starting to look ahead to the matches against Barcelona next season. With those duels in mind, he has identified the player who worries him the most. It's neither Pedri nor Raphinha, despite the high level both have shown during this past campaign.

The man from Tolosa has focused on Lamine Yamal's development, not only as a winger, where he is a game-changer. Xabi has noticed that the Barça player is starting to show signs of wanting to play inside. To stop those diagonal runs that cause so much damage, he already has a plan in mind.

Huijsen and Carreras are two signings who will strengthen the area of influence on the field where Lamine operates. The man from Tolosa will start working with them on those possible moves by the Barça player. These are also moves made by other players like Dembélé at PSG, for example.

Xabi Alonso has drawn important conclusions from the Club World Cup

Real Madrid managed to reach the semifinals of the Club World Cup, leaving a good impression. However, the defeat against PSG was a setback for this new project. Although it allowed Xabi Alonso to draw important conclusions for next season.

He is aware that for this tournament  he arrived with no time to work with the full squad. He only had one week in Valdebebas and was still missing many players from the squad. Between rest periods and injuries, that affected the Madrid side's performance.

However, during the preseason, he will already be able to start working more seriously on his project at Madrid. It is true that Tebas won't give him much leeway by not postponing the first league match. However, he will try to make the most of it so that the players internalize his message.
