It wasn't seen on TV: Lamine Yamal's gesture toward the stands, spit included

The FC Barcelona footballer showed little sportsmanship in this match

Even though LaLiga 25/26 has already started, the controversy regarding a match from last season occupies much of the current debates, especially because of the gestures involved. In recent hours, a video of Lamine Yamal has gone viral in which the FC Barcelona player appears in a not very friendly attitude.

This video was recorded from the stands at Giuseppe Meazza, when FC Barcelona visited Inter Milan's stadium for the second leg of the Champions League 24/25 semifinals. That match ended up being decided in overtime for the home team, a sporting tragedy for Hansi Flick's players... who had celebrated their place in the Munich final too early.

Apart from that surprising and extremely tough victory in extra time for the nerazurri squad, this match has returned to the spotlight because of Lamine Yamal's behavior. The Barça striker, still wearing number "19" on his back, makes quite questionable gestures toward the fans closest to his position on the field.

In addition to grabbing his shorts, Lamine Yamal keeps a cocky attitude throughout the entire video, challenging Inter Milan supporters with his gaze who are present in the stadium. Those defiant looks go even further when the footballer decides to spit toward the spectators.

Incredible but true

The striker from Rocafonda, after a few seconds of apparent calm, finally turns toward the section from which he's being recorded and tries to go even further with that spit... but falls short. Not only does he fail to affect any fan, but the sequence is also perfectly captured in some viral footage.

Apart from the forgettable behavior shown by Lamine Yamal during that Champions League match, the timing of these images also draws the attention of many people. After all, this sequence emerges four months after the celebration of that match, not a few days or almost instantly as is usually the case.

In any case, these images have caused great outrage among Madridists. Especially because of the comparisons that have always been made with Vinícius Jr.: many haven't hesitated to point to the "7" verdeamarelo as an arrogant, overbearing, and offensive footballer... a similar attitude to the one Lamine Yamal displays in this sequence that has gone viral.

The differences regarding the striker from São Gonçalo are more than obvious. Not only in terms of the titles won in the European football elite, but also in behavior off the field. These gestures from Lamine Yamal further expand that long debate.
