The Non-Sporting Reason Why Ancelotti Has Rejected Brazil's Offer

The most notorious saga concerning Real Madrid in recent hours is undoubtedly related to Carlo Ancelotti's future. The current coach of the first team seemed to have everything ready to head to Brazil and take on the role of coach of the Canarinha until the 2026 World Cup.

But that hiring, for which the Italian strategist had traveled to London, has fallen through. Not only due to discrepancies regarding the timing of his arrival as coach of the verdeamarelo team, but also because of the timing of his departure from the local bench at Santiago Bernabéu. The date of August, one of the few options offered by Real Madrid, is  unacceptable for the CBF.

Not only the economic differences and the lack of an agreement on the timing of his arrival in Brazil would have influenced the sudden end of the negotiations. In addition to the approaches from Saudi Arabia, with an offer around 50 million euros, Carlo Ancelotti's entourage has made a decisive decision.

According to the information revealed by the newspaper As, those closest to the Reggiolo coach had expressed their concern about this job in Brazil given the country's insecurity. It is not the first time that Carlo Ancelotti has suffered a robbery during his coaching career: it happened in London, before the summer of 2021, while he was coaching English club Everton.

That incident has placed a lot of emphasis on the security of the future jobs that Carlo Ancelotti has considered. Even for his return to the local bench at Santiago Bernabéu, but no such problems were found. Therefore, this non-sporting reason has also played an essential role in unexpectedly rejecting his call as coach of the five-time world champion.

The hypothetical security risks that Carlo Ancelotti could face if he had accepted the CBF's offer  have not been well-received by his entourage or the Italian coach himself. In addition to referring to the disagreements with Real Madrid regarding the terms of his departure, the transalpine strategist takes into account a personal aspect to shape his professional future.

In any case, Carlo Ancelotti would have put an end to the saga that constantly linked him with Brazil since January 2023. The initial approaches from the CBF were close to resulting in an agreement, to be signed in London, which ultimately fell through. Amidst this whirlwind,  the Reggiolo coach remains committed to his tactical obligations with Real Madrid.

But he also keeps an eye on the Saudi Arabia option. The interest of the Saudi Pro League, which continues to attract big names from the European soccer elite, aims to secure Ancelotti's signing... especially if Jorge Jesús, coach of Al-Hilal, ends up becoming the new coach of the South American team.
