Ramón de Mon stands up for Huijsen after an ugly accusation: 'Exactly the opposite'
He shuts many mouths in the face of criticism toward the Madrid center-back
Spain had a feast, winning 6-0 against Türkiye in what seemed like it was going to be the most difficult match. With that victory, they are well on their way to qualifying for the World Cup (Mundial), although there is still a long way to go. However, it has also allowed analysts to focus on Dean Huijsen and criticize him.
The center-back, who already played an outstanding match against Bulgaria, performed at a high level against Türkiye, although not everyone sees it that way. Journalist Álvaro Von Richetti has harshly criticized him on Radio Marca. In fact, he has made an ugly accusation against Huijsen, which many do not understand.

"The only downside for Spain: Dean Huijsen's suicidal horizontal passes that he needs to correct and that really tarnish his image," he said. For him, it was the worst part and he considers it something "he wanted to highlight." Words that seem very harsh considering the center-back's performance in these matches.
It is true that he could avoid some horizontal passes, but he doesn't appreciate everything he contributes. In fact, saying that "it really tarnishes his image" might be a very ugly accusation. He seems to be trying to discredit him, even though he acknowledges that he is very good and that he has room for improvement.
Ramón de Mon steps in to defend Huijsen with evidence
Ramón de Mon doesn't seem to agree with that accusation made against Huijsen. He has shown this with a message posted on his Twitter profile defending the center-back. He has also done so with evidence, with a video of his actions against Türkiye.

"The truth is that I see just the opposite; Huijsen and his passing ability do a lot of damage to the opponent," Ramón said. His great strength, playing out from the back, is proven by his long passes and passes between the lines. He is able to get past the opponent's pressure and break down their defense.
A center-back like him, who has so much possession, seems inevitably bound to make some mistakes. It will surely be costly on some occasions, but what he brings is infinitely more. Ball carrying, long passes, excellent aerial play, and good at cutting off plays with composure.
