Ramón de Mon updates the Ceballos case, Real Madrid's position

Real Madrid have started the season by securing two victories against Osasuna and Oviedo. That has made them trust the current squad and look toward the end of the transfer window calmly. They believe all the work is already done and therefore they don't have to make any more moves.

However, after the win at Carlos Tartiere, Ceballos caused a major stir in the current news about the club. He made a post that seemed like a farewell to Real Madrid after that match. Later, we confirmed that Olympique de Marseille was interested in signing him.

Ramón de Mon has provided an update on Ceballos's situation and his possible departure at this time.  Real Madrid and Olympique de Marseille would already be negotiating the footballer's exit.  The player from Utrera would welcome reaching an agreement as soon as possible.

Ceballos has realized that he won't be a starter under Xabi Alonso, but instead will have a minor role. That's why, according to Defensa Central, he wants to leave to get more playing time. He's especially thinking about next summer's World Cup, in which he wants to participate, although it will be difficult for him.

It's true that Xabi Alonso doesn't consider Ceballos a starting player in his plans at this time. Arda Güler has become his playmaker and a key piece for him. That has left the player from Utrera in the background, which could mean he gets few minutes.

Even so, the Basque coach sees that he's going to lose another player capable of creating play in midfield.  Last summer Kroos left after his retirement, and this year it was Modric who didn't renew his contract. Two very important departures that haven't been replaced with signings.

Although if Ceballos does end up leaving, it seems they've already chosen who will take his place. It's Thiago Pitarch, the youth player who has made a very good impression during preseason.  Xabi will bet on him, and for now he's included him in the squads for the two matches they've played.
