Rashford lands in Barcelona with 'The best foot': jab at Messi and nod to Madrid
The English forward has always declared himself a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo over Messi and now signs for Barça
Marcus Rashford is already in Barcelona. The English forward has arrived as Barça's new signing on loan from Manchester United. However, his arrival hasn't gone unnoticed.
In one of his most viral statements, Rashford was blunt when he was asked about the eternal debate:
"Messi or Ronaldo?". His answer was clear: "For me, always Ronaldo."
It wasn't the only time he showed his admiration for the Portuguese. In another interview, when he was asked who would take a penalty if his life depended on it, he didn't hesitate:
"Cristiano Ronaldo, 100%."
These words have already sparked reactions on social media. Many see it as a clear jab at Messi... right as he arrives at the club where the Argentine is a legend.
Loan with fine print
FC Barcelona and United have agreed on a loan with a non-mandatory purchase option. The amount, if executed, will be €30 million.
However, if Barça decides not to exercise that purchase, it will have to pay financial compensation to the English club. Everything arose because United initially demanded €48 million, an amount Barça wasn't willing to pay.

Rashford has done his part. The forward has accepted a 15% salary reduction to be able to play for Barça. His salary, which was close to €18 million gross in England, will now be about €14 million gross in the Catalan capital.
The agreement also includes performance and participation bonuses. However, Manchester won't pay a single euro of the player's salary.
Hansi Flick, delighted
The German coach had asked for quick reinforcements to have them available for the preseason tour. Rashford is one of those who excites him the most.
He has already spoken with him and considers him a key piece for his system. He believes he can recover his best form in a competitive and young environment.
Rashford knows it: this stage at Barça could mark a turning point in his career. He is motivated, eager to show himself, and his arrival hasn't left anyone indifferent.
With one foot in Camp Nou and the other pointing toward Bernabéu, Marcus is already on everyone's lips.
