Raúl Asencio loses a lot of money with his contract renewal, accepts out of love for Real Madrid

The young Spanish center-back secures his continuity in the first team of the Whites

One of the surprises left by the 24/25 season at Real Madrid is Raúl Asencio. The shortage of center backs experienced by the first team led the coaching staff headed by Carlo Ancelotti to draft the youth player from Real Madrid Castilla to help with defensive duties. His performance was quite notable.

However, all the ground gained during much of the past soccer season was lost during the Club World Cup. Xabi Alonso looks at the new "17" of the first team with some doubts, given his forgettable performance in the competition organized by FIFA. Even so, he has the support of the executives led by Florentino Pérez.

That's why Real Madrid has decided to move forward with a renewal for an absolute star. Encouraged by that trust conveyed from the Valdebebas offices, also in the form of a contract renewal, the Canary Islands center back is determined to show that he can be the perfect partner for Dean Huijsen

For now, the "24" in white is the only one who has the necessary stripes to be considered untouchable at the heart of the defense according to the Madrid coaching staff. The 25/26 preseason, as well as the first matches of the upcoming league campaign, will be key to defining Raúl Asencio's role in Santiago Bernabéu locker room.

He doesn't want to leave

Despite the complicated circumstances he now faces regarding his sporting future at Real Madrid, the defender is not determined to give up. Although he could have accepted some offers from the Middle East, with figures higher than those proposed by Real Madrid, he only wants to succeed wearing the white jersey.

That idea of leaving the European soccer elite after just one season, with a long and promising career in the Old Continent ahead, doesn't seem to fit into his plans. Not even the approaches from the Saudi Pro League: this is not the first time they've asked about this footballer.

The Saudi league's attempts to sign young prospects, as was the case with Gabri Veiga, have increased significantly. That's why players like Raúl Asencio receive multimillion-dollar offers like those that could have prevented him from renewing with the white team this very summer. The player prefers to lose money but gain many more competitive opportunities.

Not only because he would keep playing at the highest soccer level. He also has the opportunity to significantly increase his trophy haul and aspire to become one of the most outstanding of his generation at La Fábrica. The competition will be tough, especially considering that both Antonio Rüdiger and Éder Militão have already recovered from their injuries.
