The 3 free agents Real Madrid wants to sign in 2026, top-level superstars for free

They want to sign 3 players for free and they are following them very closely

Real Madrid already considers its squad closed for next season despite the rumors. They're still closely monitoring several players with the idea of strengthening key positions. However, they wouldn't do it now, as these moves are postponed until 2026 when they want to make another big move.

From the white club, they're following 3 free agents who'd be interested in signing in a year. There's already been a lot of talk about Konaté and it's taken for granted that he'll be the main target. They're also paying attention to the contract situations of Upamecano and Donnarumma as possible reinforcements.

With Konaté, they no longer have doubts; he's the big signing for the center of defense they want to make. There had been a lot of speculation about Saliba, since he was another favorite at Real Madrid. But the decision has been made, they'll go after the Liverpool player since the Arsenal one will renew.

The Reds don't want to negotiate with Madrid this summer, so they'll wait patiently for the right moment. They're going to follow the same path as with Trent, starting January 1. At that point, they could make him an offer to try to convince him and get everything settled.

Donnarumma and Upamecano seem like more complicated signings

Real Madrid is looking for center-backs and, besides Konaté, they're considering several options. It's important to keep in mind that Rüdiger and Alaba are already veterans and both could leave in 2026. Upamecano is an option they're considering for next year.

The current Bayern player is 5 ft. 11 in. (1.80 meters) and could be a good complement for other center-backs. Militao, Huijsen, or Konaté would be ahead of him, but he can add quality minutes. Although his injuries are a concern, casting doubt on his physical condition.

With Donnarumma the situation is different, since he wants to leave PSG this very summer. But the Parisians don't want to negotiate with Real Madrid and in a World Cup year that's a problem. The Italian doesn't want to be left without playing in such an important season.
