Real Madrid doesn't stand idly by after Huijsen's red card

The white club will fight for Dean Huijsen to play in the next LaLiga match

Real Madrid has started the process to appeal the straight red card shown to Dean Huijsen in the match against Real Sociedad. The club is convinced that this sanction can be revoked. They hope that, when the Competition Committee analyzes the arguments presented, the red card will be dismissed, thus allowing the young defender to be available for the match against Espanyol.

According to "Defensa Central," in the session next Wednesday, the Committee will study the detailed appeal. The argument is that at the moment of the incident, there was another defender, Éder Militao, running alongside, which prevents Huijsen from being classified as the "last man." It is also argued that the necessary elements to consider the action as a clear goal-scoring opportunity were not present.

Real Madrid trusts that the sanction, if not withdrawn, will not be more than one match, intending to exhaust all available avenues. If necessary, they would appeal to the Appeals Committee and, ultimately, to the TAD (Administrative Sports Tribunal).

Real Madrid are very angry with Spanish referees

Within the club, there is a sense of concern about what they consider a refereeing trend that is being especially strict. In this case, the club believes that Gil Manzano applied the strictest possible criteria. However, the arguments and regulatory precedents could work in Huijsen's favor.

It is worth remembering that Gil Manzano was the same referee who disallowed Bellingham's legal goal at Mestalla in the final second. He was also the referee who awarded three penalties against Real Madrid in a single match.

With this appeal, Real Madrid aims not only to overturn a specific sanction but also to denounce what it sees as a lack of refereeing fairness in decisions of the highest impact.

Meanwhile, for Xabi Alonso's interests, it would be very good if the card for the player were removed. The sanction for Dean Huijsen and Antonio Rüdiger's injury would leave Real Madrid severely weakened in the center of defense for the next league match.
