Real Madrid Is Stunned by the Double Standard, Koundé's Red Card, and Julián's Penalty
The Barça footballer assaulted Giuliano Simeone, but the referee didn't show him the second card
Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona played at the Metropolitano in one of the most highlighted matches of the LaLiga round. Both teams were fighting for the Primera División title, and with the aftermath of what happened in the Champions, the match was marked by controversy.
In the first half, Jules Koundé was the only Barcelona player booked after bringing down Reinildo. Shortly after, the French full-back was close to seeing red for an incident with Giuliano Simeone, although the referee did not consider penalizing the play.
Koundé's Aggression on Giuliano Simeone for Which He Wasn't Sanctioned with a Red
The first yellow card to Jules Koundé caused hardly any controversy. The Barça full-back arrived late and brought down Reinildo, a player from Atlético de Madrid. However, shortly before the half-hour mark, the Frenchman was involved in one of the first half's controversies.
The Frenchman was involved in a scuffle with Giuliano Simeone before a corner kick, touching the face of the red-and-white player a couple of times. The Argentine ended up on the ground, but the referee, De Burgos Bengoetxea, did not penalize the play.
The Double Standard of Anti-Madridists Is Shocking
On one hand, Atlético de Madrid's fans hardly denounced Jules Koundé's action on their player. All this after protesting Julián Álvarez's action in the Madrid classic of the Champions.
Meanwhile, Iturralde González, former referee and commentator on Cadena SER, compared the action to Bellingham's.
"It's like Bellingham's yesterday. Giuliano does quite a bit of acting, but Koundé touches his face. If he gets the second yellow, he can't say anything because he raises his hand and hits him", he explained.

"He hits him, he does. You shouldn't touch anyone's face", stated Iturralde González on Cadena SER.
Some Barça fans and many media outlets aligned with Barça called for Bellingham's expulsion for his scuffle with Foyth. However, no one from the City of Barcelona said yesterday that Jules Koundé's behavior deserved a red card for aggression against an opposing player.
