Real Madrid's Locker Room Erupts After the Embarrassment in Pamplona: 'They're Screwing Us...'

The club once again demonstrates its discontent regarding what was experienced in the national competitions.

The match between Osasuna and Real Madrid, in addition to the players, has left the name of José Luis Munuera Montero as one of the protagonists of the day. Besides the possible penalty committed on Vinícius and two handballs in Osasuna's area, the referee from the Andalusian committee decided to call the same infraction on Budimir and send off Bellingham.

The penalty in favor of the home team came after a VAR review led by Trujillo Sánchez from Tenerife, while the sanction to the '5' was for his words. Madrid fans already showed their indignation on social media, while Real Madrid TV made a harsh criticism of the system that prevails in national competitions, especially pointing to LaLiga.

But behind closed doors, the situation and considerations are practically identical. According to the information from the newspaper As, "in the small groups that formed on the short trip back to the capital of Spain" only expressions like "they're screwing us" were heard. These words from "players, coaching staff, and directors" would reflect what the newspaper, asking sources from Santiago Bernabéu locker room, reveals as "deep disaffection with LaLiga".

Such feelings would be joined by feelings of "incomprehension, impotence, and despair" due to the treatment that the referees and the national competition system would be applying to the club. Likewise, the newspaper As reveals a very repeated question lately in the merengue locker room: "Why?!".

Nobody Understands It

Nobody within the club seems to find an explanation for what has happened in recent seasons regarding refereeing. While it is true that Real Madrid is in a declared 'war' with LaLiga, the referees who administer justice in the competition presided over by Javier Tebas are the responsibility of RFEF. With the Federation, in principle, relations remain somewhat more cordial.

But actions that the merengue entity takes to defend itself from "episodes" like the one experienced at the RCDE Stadium, the letter sent to the RFEF itself and the CSD, do not seem to be well-received. Regarding what happened at El Sadar, the newspaper As points out that Jude Bellingham "doesn't understand anything that's happening". The "certain dismay" that now affects the English midfielder due to his expulsion is another symptom of Real Madrid's discontent with the referees.

The idea that persists within the merengue entity is a clear "they're screwing us", reflected in the three consecutive draws in LaLiga, adverse results at the worst moment. So much so that "in the white locker room they claim that the hand of the referees is seen behind those three consecutive setbacks" according to the information published by the newspaper As.

In any case, Real Madrid will file an appeal against Jude Bellingham's expulsion that will attempt to overturn the "unjust" sanction received at El Sadar. The strong point of that approach is the difference between Munuera Montero's report and the videos captured of the moment, which could be key to overturning the direct red card.
