Real Madrid Considers a Major Sale to Sign Huijsen, Completely Unexpected

At Real Madrid, they had marked Huijsen as one of the favorite center-backs to strengthen the position. They see great qualities in him as he is showing this season in the Premier League. However, they weren't entirely sure about going for his signing this summer.

The one who would generate the most uncertainty is Alaba, who has suffered a serious injury and it took him more than a year to reappear. His physical condition is in doubt as well as whether he can regain competitive rhythm. Therefore, right now Real Madrid is not opposed to his departure next summer.

Additionally, he has one of the highest salaries in the squad, which can be decisive. Especially considering the 50 million it might cost to sign Huijsen this summer. An option that is currently on the table and Real Madrid is studying it.

Two Possibilities with Alaba to Bring Huijsen

Alaba still has an active contract until 2026, but if he wants, they are willing to cut it a year early. Real Madrid has seen that the Austrian center-back has a couple of options ahead. Interest had already been shown from Saudi Arabia in his signing, but also the MLS is making a strong entrance.

As we say, Real Madrid is willing to sit down to negotiate if Alaba asks to leave. With the money they will save from his salary and a possible sale, they will go for Huijsen. Initially, they weren't considering paying that price, but right now they might have changed their decision.

Everything depends on Alaba and the decision he makes whether to stay the remaining year of his contract or leave. Real Madrid is clear that if he leaves, they will have to bring in a center-back. Huijsen is the chosen one to strengthen the defense this upcoming summer in the market.
