Florentino's Roadmap for 2025-26 in Motion: 3 Signings and 3 Departures
Real Madrid Prepares Several Changes in the Squad for the Next Season
In the Real Madrid locker room, they are thinking about the match against Alavés this Sunday and Arsenal. Right now, they don't want to look beyond the next two objectives, not even the Cup final. But in the offices, things are different, and they are indeed starting to plan the 2025-26 season.
They are aware that they can't let much more time pass with some signings. Otherwise, it might be too late, and another team could have gotten ahead of them in negotiations. That's why Florentino hurried to secure Alexander Arnold, the first to arrive at Real Madrid.

But he wouldn't be the only one, as they have in mind to add 2 more signings next summer. The first is a center-back who can secure the position for the future alongside Asencio and Militao. The second is a creative midfielder, thinking about replacing Kroos after his retirement.
Those are the plans they are currently handling regarding arrivals, although there are some conditions. Departures will have to occur; otherwise, they won't move in the market. Only Arnold seems like a sure move right now at Real Madrid.
3 Departures Well Underway to Make Room in the Squad
For signings to arrive, departures must occur, and 3 of them are already well underway. The first is Lucas Vázquez, whose contract ends on June 30. He is not delivering the desired level this season, and with Arnold, they already have his replacement guaranteed.

The second is Luka Modric, who is in the same contractual situation as the Galician full-back. In his case, he does want to continue for one more year, thinking about reaching the 2026 World Cup. But within the club, they doubt whether it would be best to make way for a younger replacement.
Finally, Alaba is signed until 2026 and also has one of the highest salaries in the squad. After being sidelined for more than a year due to his injury, he is struggling to regain his rhythm. They could give him the freedom to seek a new destination with Arabia interested in his signing.
