Rodri's signing, much closer to Real Madrid, is considered a done deal
The date when Real Madrid will finalize Rodri's signing has been revealed
For several months, one of the players most closely linked with Real Madrid was Rodri. The Manchester City midfielder was seen as a top-level reinforcement for Real Madrid's squad. However, his injury was one of the reasons why Real Madrid, despite their interest, never made further progress with this deal.
After returning to the field a few weeks ago, Real Madrid's interest in Rodri also resurfaced. Given the need to strengthen their midfield while he's still available, Real Madrid consider Rodri the ideal player. However, because of his contract with Manchester City, Real Madrid won't make any offer for the Spaniard this transfer window.

This is because, in order to sign him without any issues, Real Madrid will make an offer for Rodri during the summer of 2026. With less time left on his contract and still at a good age, Real Madrid have everything ready for this upcoming deal.
Real Madrid's star signing operation
Achieving great success with Manchester City and the Spanish national team, Rodri has established himself as an excellent holding midfielder. Helping in all aspects of the game, Rodri is a very complete midfielder who also has a nose for goal. Scoring important goals at key moments, there are no doubts about his talent.
What there are doubts about is his future, since he has a contract until 2027 with Manchester City that hasn't been renewed. Having played six seasons with City, Real Madrid are set to be Rodri's destination for the next summer transfer window.

Although Real Madrid could've tried to sign him during this transfer window, the club are aware of the complications that would be involved. Known for always looking for the easiest way to complete transfers, Real Madrid will be patient with Rodri.
Rodri's imminent signing
At 28 years old, Rodri still has several years of good soccer ahead of him and can further improve his level of play. Even though his signing for Real Madrid won't be completed this summer, there will only be one season to wait for this.
