Sergi Darder speaks out, reveals if there was a handball by Arda Güler: 'Never...'
The footballer from the Bermellones squad surprises with his interpretation of the play
Real Madrid came close to not securing all three points during Real Mallorca's visit to Santiago Bernabéu. Jagoba Arrasate's players made their defeat very costly, even forcing a heroic action from Álvaro Carreras. Number 18 cleared a ball off the line that seemed destined to enter Thibaut Courtois's goal.
That narrow scoreline was, among other things, the result of the controversial refereeing decisions experienced at the Madrid stadium. The three goals disallowed after a VAR review caused great discontent among the white supporters, as well as some footballers in Santiago Bernabéu locker room. Kylian Mbappé is the most notable in this regard.

The analyses of those plays have continued throughout the morning, reviewing in detail the rule related to offsides and handballs in attack. Aside from those comments made by panelists and refereeing experts on radio and television, one of the first verdicts arrived shortly after the match ended at the white stadium.
Because Sergi Darder, one of Real Mallorca's most outstanding footballers, surprised with his statements in the mixed zone of the Madrid stadium. "For me, it's never a handball", said number 10 of Real Mallorca when asked about Arda Güler's goal. The second goal by the Turkish number 15 was disallowed for a handball in attack.
Very clear opinion
That's where the ball hits after Leo Román's save from Franco Mastantuono's good shot. Although Arda Güler has his hand tucked in and close to his body, a fact that Sánchez Martínez understands as accidental, the rule also applies to those unintentional infractions.
Sergi Darder referred to that same rule, rule 12 of Spanish soccer, which develops those conditions that disallowed the goal scored by the Altindag midfielder. The goal is disallowed, according to Real Mallorca's midfielder, "but for a clear handball we have... Just leave it as it is", said the Spanish player, wanting to avoid further controversy.

Despite everything, Real Mallorca's player took the opportunity to recall the confusion among all the players: "We never know when it's a handball and when it's not, especially with this one". Although "I think the referee isn't to blame at all", who simply applies the rule: "if it touches his hand, no matter how unintentional it is, he has to disallow it".
"It's clear to me that it's a bit of a strange rule, but as long as it's applied equally to everyone" there's no problem, Sergi Darder concluded regarding this refereeing controversy. Real Madrid's focus is on the international break, hoping that no international returns injured before preparing for the visit to Reale Arena next September 13.
