Siro López Warns Madrid about Vinícius and the Red Card at Mestalla: With the Statements
The journalist has pointed to Real Madrid for its reply to the ejection
Although Real Madrid is focused on the game against Deportiva Minera in the Copa, eyes are elsewhere. Vinícius's suspension after his red card in Mestalla is a topic that continues to linger. It didn't sit well how the review in the VAR was conducted by the referees.
However, that defense the club is making for its player doesn't seem to have pleased everyone. Siro López thinks that "it's already the same old story" and doesn't seem to agree. He believes Madrid isn't handling the whole Brazilian issue well.
He acknowledged that "in the face of insults, provocations, and such, he replies because everyone has their own character." However, he added that "what you can't do is protest in the game's first minute". "You can't risk being shown a second yellow card for complaining," he assured.
However, he raised his voice because says that "someone has to be able to say enough" so it doesn't keep happening. But the problem could escalate. "Internally, I don't know what they're doing." He believes that "with the statements being made continuously, they're doing him no favors."
The anger of Madrid fans has focused on the VAR images
It's true that Vinícius's reaction might have deserved a red card for being too excessive. But Madrid fans don't like everything happening around it and an excessive permissiveness. Especially because of the chants coming from the stands that are allowed with impunity.
Additionally, they believe there was a biased use of the images shown in the VAR. Soto Grado was shown Vinícius's reaction but they tried to hide the entire action. The Valencia goalkeeper wasn't sanctioned after hitting the Brazilian first.
They consider that the beginning went unsanctioned and should have also resulted in an expulsion. Something that isn't understood in the club and is used as an argument to defend him. Although Siro López believes more attention should be paid to the Brazilian.
