Sky Sport drops the bomb, Rodrygo has reportedly communicated his wish, goodbye to Real Madrid
Sky Sport doesn't waste any time and drops the bomb about Rodrygo, suggesting a change of scenery
One of the sagas that has caused the most controversy around Real Madrid is the possible departure of the Brazilian Rodrygo. This player has left a very poor impression after the last season and even the previous one, where he didn't reach the desired level. Now, the most recent information from Sky Sport suggests that the player could be very close to leaving for Manchester City.
This decision has been made by both parties, both the player's camp and Real Madrid, which has decided to sell him this very summer. The limited impact within the new sports administration led by Alonso seems to have determined this situation. The player has lost the trust of the board and the coach, so a significant sum will have to be set for his departure.
Manchester City targets his signing
The team led by Pep Guardiola has already been very alert to the future of this footballer from the white team on other occasions. Interestingly, this very player has been one of the biggest headaches for the Catalan coach when they've faced each other in the Champions League. Now, he could see him as an ideal replacement for the left wing, where the also Brazilian player Savio hasn't reached the desired level.

For Rodrygo it would be an important step to not only return to the starting line-up but also to his preferred wing, the pressure isn't the same. It's important to note that this last season he managed to record 24 goal contributions, including assists, in more than 50 matches. In addition to this, in the Club World Cup he barely played any minutes, being a starter only in the first match, which he didn't even finish.

Alonso seems to have a much stronger preference for choosing other footballers, such as Brahim, to cover the right wing or even Franco Mastantuono. Therefore, his move to English soccer would be the best option right now, which would leave a good amount in the white club's coffers.
A matter of time
What seems clear is that this player will end up leaving the white club this very summer, both by his own decision and that of the team from the Spanish capital. The sums could rise to more than €80 million, considering the premium that English soccer ends up paying. This could allow the white team to undertake other operations to be able to fill 100% of the squad in all its positions.
