Reinier's surprising jab at Real Madrid after his farewell: 'Before, I didn't...'
The Brazilian footballer doesn't hesitate to reveal his feelings about his completed time as a Madridist
One of the departures Real Madrid have confirmed during the current summer transfer window is the exit of Reinier Jesús. The Brazilian attacking midfielder, despite being one of the greatest prospects in soccer from that country, hasn't had any minutes with the first team over the past five years.
His arrival in Santiago Bernabéu locker room in 2020 promised to add another verdeamarelo talent to the duo already formed by Vinícius and Rodrygo Goes, but he couldn't find his place. That's why the executives led by Florentino Pérez decided to send him on several loans, aiming for him to find his best form and return at his peak the following summer.

He didn't succeed. After five consecutive loans, without the support of coaches like Xabi Alonso or Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid have finally decided to terminate the South American footballer's contract. Now that he's a free agent, Reinier Jesús quickly returned to his home country to sign for Clube Atlético Mineiro.
This transfer became a reality thanks to two people. The first is the unforgettable and veteran striker Hulk, currently playing for that Carioca squad. The second is former Atlético de Madrid player Diego Costa, who relayed Hulk's messages to Reinier Jesús over the past few weeks.
Órdago discovered
In addition to acknowledging that this mediation was key for his return to South American soccer, Reinier Jesús has made it clear that he feels better than he did in Spain's capital. "I'm very happy to sign for the 'galo', in my new home. Happy to have this affection, which I didn't have before; happy to be able to wear this jersey", he reveals in a clear reference to his time as a Madridist.
This lack of "affection" could very well point directly to the constant loans he experienced as a Real Madrid player... as well as the lack of support from the first team coaches in their decisions about including him in those sporting dynamics. Now that the verdeamarelo midfielder has returned to his country, he has only one goal: to be happy.

It's no wonder he tried at Real Madrid, although it's true that he didn't have much success, given this early termination of his contract at just 23 years old. "I was looking for my happiness, I was loaned out for five years. I wasn't happy", Reinier Jesús admits, describing his feelings as a Real Madrid player.
"I'm happy with the project and I think it'll go well", he concludes about this new stage in his football career. Reinier Jesús is trying to leave behind his failure as a Real Madrid player once and for all, even though he still remembers those five years in Spain's capital negatively.
