Termination or loan: Xabi Alonso and Florentino give this Madridist an ultimatum
The Real Madrid footballer who has the door open to leave after the decision by Xabi Alonso and Florentino Pérez
Over the years, Real Madrid has made several signings of young prospects who managed to become stars. However, the club hasn't been exempt from some failures with players who never managed to shine. This is the case of Reinier Jesús, who, with one season left on his contract, will leave Real Madrid once again.
After several loan spells since his signing in 2020, Reinier hasn't managed to improve his performance. His latest loan was with Granada, a Second Division team where he also failed to become a key player. Xabi and Florentino, in light of this, made the decision to either loan the player out again or terminate his contract with one season remaining.
According to what we know at Defensa Central, another loan for Reinier is the most viable option. This is due, in large part, to how difficult it would be to find a club interested in signing him. Given his clear devaluation, Reinier no longer has a strong reputation in Europe.
An operation that is better forgotten
Just like his compatriots Vinicius and Rodrygo, Reinier arrived at Real Madrid as a great prospect. His performance at Flamengo showed his potential to be one of the best footballers in the world. However, due to limited space in the squad, Reinier was loaned out to gain experience in Europe.

Dortmund, Girona, Frosinone, and Granada have been the clubs where he has been loaned out. This clearly reflects the terrible decline Reinier has experienced over the years. From having a value of €25 million according to Transfermarkt, his value is now just €1.5 million.
Although the player could keep his place at Real Madrid, this isn't part of the team's or Xabi's plans. A loan would be best, but his previous failures could affect another departure on his part. At 23 years old, the future is anything but clear for Reinier.
A necessary departure
Playing 1,401 minutes (1,401 min.) last season, Reinier only managed 1 goal and 4 assists. Terrible numbers for a player who also failed to perform in the Second Division. With the time remaining before the end of the transfer window, Real Madrid can still choose the best option for Reinier.
