Xabi Alonso has asked Florentino for a favor in the transfer operation: 'It's essential'

The  new configuration of Santiago Bernabéu locker room is starting to take shape. Those dynamics have their translation in the summer transfer market.

That's why the Tolosa manager has once again approached the white club's sporting management to inform them of a change that was already suspected... but needed official confirmation. Thanks to his upward performance since the start of 2025, Aurélien Tchouaméni would be avoiding a sale.

In Xabi Alonso's words, keeping the French stopper "is essential" to ensure the first team's success starting next August 19. While it's true that the Rouen midfielder had a first half of the 24/25 season to forget, this year offers different dynamics. The Club World Cup is the best example of this.

The brilliant performances of the Madridist "14", both as a center-back and in his natural position, have convinced Xabi Alonso. By express order of the new Madridist coach, a directive that has already reached the Valdebebas offices, Aurélien Tchouaméni now has untouchable status at Real Madrid.

The two sides of the same coin

The information recently revealed by Ekrem Konur certifies the change experienced by the Spanish capital squad. In just a few months, Tchouaméni has convinced many Madridists and Xabi Alonso that he has a place in the current sporting project. The reports produced by the Merengue coaching staff are favorable to his staying.

They would have even placed him, as Xabi Alonso emphasizes to the Madridist bosses, as one of the footballers of utmost importance in the complete restructuring of the tactical system and the locker room. That consolidation of Aurélien Tchouaméni, at the same time, complicates other aspects of the sporting planning for the next season.

Not only when it comes to going to the transfer market to strengthen the squad in the targeted areas. The configuration of a  gala starting eleven is increasingly complicated, given that  there's an excess of talent in the Merengue midfield... but not enough space: the arrival of Franco Mastantuono is the  "even more difficult" challenge that the Tolosa manager will face starting next August.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso has asked Florentino Pérez for a big favor: he can't sell Aurélien Tchouaméni. The previous reluctance and doubts regarding the French "14" have disappeared thanks to the change of coach, who has given him a  role as versatile as it is defined on the field.
