Xabi Alonso is worried, he's working on a plan B for Fede Valverde, he has several options

The Tolosa native has an idea for Fede Valverde; he doesn't want to take risks with him

Fede Valverde has become a key pillar for Real Madrid in recent years. He has played as a central midfielder, as a pivot, as a winger, and even as a right back when there have been absences. In all of these roles, he has delivered a great performance that hasn't gone unnoticed.

That led Ancelotti to bet on him, making him the player who has accumulated the most minutes. Out of the 123 matches played in the last two seasons, Fede Valverde has participated in 119. This accumulation has made Xabi Alonso concerned heading into this season.

He knows that for now he has endured because he has a prodigious physique and works hard to take care of himself. However, as the years go by, this will work against him and he will need more moments of rest. This is something the man from Tolosa is already considering so Fede doesn't get overloaded with minutes.

During this season, Xabi's idea is for the Uruguayan not to be the utility player for every position. He wants to manage his minutes more to avoid the high risk of injury he has faced in recent years. He also wants to keep him fresher for the key moments of the season.

Xabi Alonso has already thought about how to give Fede Valverde rest during the season

Xabi Alonso has spent the entire summer thinking about how to get the best out of his players. In Fede Valverde's case, he is considering several solutions to give the "8" from Madrid some rest. Different players can fill his position throughout the season, and he already has them in mind.

Ceballos is a strong candidate, if the player from Utrera doesn't end up leaving in the transfer market. He can give the Madrid side physical presence in midfield and also has creative ability. Bellingham can offer something similar by dropping deeper, as he did at Dortmund, and allowing Brahim to come in.

He could also use Mastantuono and Camavinga when both are available. These are the options he is considering for the season, without forgetting Thiago Pitarch, the young academy player. However, in his case, they want to be more cautious so as not to put pressure on him too soon since he is a youth player.
