Xabi tells a starter that he's no longer one, he'll be important coming off the bench

Xabi is clear about this footballer and will move him to the bench because it is the best thing for the project

It's known that the revolution at Real Madrid has started under Alonso, in what is clearly a new chapter for the team. After the Club World Cup, the feelings are much more positive than what was seen last season, and now this will take place in the regular season. One of these changes, as Defensa Central has learned, will be among the most important, leaving Rüdiger on the bench.

The German defender, despite being one of the most experienced members of the team, will no longer be considered a starter. This decision has been made by the Spanish coach, who seems to trust much more in the development of other young prospects like Dean Huijsen.

He moves him to the bench

This player arrived at the white team from Chelsea as a free agent just a couple of seasons ago, little by little climbing in importance. In that last Champions League win, he was a key piece with the injuries to Militao and later to Alaba.

Right now, at 32 years old, he seems to be suffering from a knee injury that could start to increasingly affect his performance. In addition, with a contract valid until 2026, he is already entering its final stretch, so his departure is an option. However, this could change at any moment if he renews for at least one more year, as the white club usually does.

However, what matters most now is that his role on the bench won't be completely residual, but rather quite important. This is to preserve the health of his knee and, at the same time, to have a quality substitute when needed in defense.

It's his turn to accept it

Obviously, it's the player's turn to accept this new role without any kind of problem, because if not, there will be consequences. Looking at the situation, it seems like the best option for a footballer going through such a difficult time with his knee. Of course, without setting aside the importance of the team and what will be a very difficult season.
