Younger and Cheaper than Zubimendi: LaLiga Star Who is Making His Way onto the Agenda

The change of interest that Real Madrid has had in putting aside the operation for Zubimendi's services

Always known for their excellent midfield, Real Madrid has the clear objective of returning to dominate from this position. After Kroos' retirement, the club saw Zubimendi as the ideal player to be the midfield's new leader. However, the Spaniard has been overtaken by a LaLiga prospect.

The young Dário Essugo, with an impressive performance, has slipped into the radar of Real Madrid ahead of the next transfer market. Loaned to UD Las Palmas by Sporting de Portugal, the young midfielder is being the revelation this season in LaLiga.

His age and, above all, his value have made him a viable option for Real Madrid. Although interest in Zubimendi is still present, it has diminished in the face of Essugo's talent. Having to return to Portugal at the end of this season, the white team is analyzing his level in order to make a decision about his future.

The Portuguese jewel

At just 19 years old, Essugo has shown a level and maturity rarely seen before in players of his age. The 911 minutes he has played this season demonstrate the excellent campaign he is having with Las Palmas. Given the constant renewal of the Real Madrid team, the Portuguese fits the profile that the club is looking for.

Despite the interest of other clubs such as Barcelona, the Merengue team has positioned itself as the favorite to carry out this transfer. The value of 45 million euros is more affordable than the 60 million that the club would have to pay for Zubimendi.

However, Essugo's transfer is far from complete. Despite his great form, Real Madrid are still closely monitoring his progress this season with Las Palmas.

A talent to take into account

Known for the transfer of several young stars, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Essugo's performance. Aware of the need to regain a dominant midfield, the Portuguese could be the missing piece for Ancelotti's scheme.
